You have been selected as a winner in the 2008 Ironman Lottery to compete as an athlete in the Ford Ironman World Championship in beautiful Kailua-
Kona, Hawaii on October 11, 2008! Crossing the finish line on Alii Drive is sure to provide you with many fond memories. Please read the below details
to ensure your registration to compete in Kona is confirmed.

Application:
• Upon receipt of this letter your application will be available online

• Once your application becomes available on-line, you have only 15 days to complete your application or you will forfeit your slot in
the 2008 Ford Ironman World Championship

• Please make certain you do not lose this letter, as you will need to reference your certificate number (Athlete Password).

• You will need to register as a Cat 2 athlete.

• Once you start the online registration process and have agreed to the waiver an Optional Account Login section will appear. This
section is only for athletes who already have an Ironman ID account. If you have an Ironman ID account, please enter your Ironman ID
number or your Username, plus your Password and click the "Continue" button. Do not confuse your Ironman ID number or Username
with your Athlete Registration Number. If you do not have either account, leave the fields blank and click the "Continue" button.

• Athletes without an Active.com or Ironman ID account will be asked to confirm that they do not have an Ironman account. If you are
not sure, enter the requested data and click the "Search" button. If you are certain that you do not have an Ironman ID account, leave
the data fields blank and click the "Skip" button.

• Once you have reached the Registration Step 2, Complete Form section, select your name from the pull down list (names appear in
alphabetical order by first name).

• You will be asked to enter your Athlete Password. Be sure to enter it exactly as:

Race Entry Fees:
• It is required that you pay your entry fee of $465.00 (USD) at the time of qualification.

• Withdrawal requests must be received in writing via E-mail to jennette@ironman.com. Without exception, all requests must be
received on or before August 31, 2008 to be eligible for a partial refund of $150.00 (USD)

Ironman Slot Validation:
• You are required to complete a 70.3 distance event (1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run) or greater to validate your slot.
Please submit race results to jennette@ironman.com within 15 days after the event. Without exception, athletes that have not
provided results showing validation of their slot by August 31, 2008 will be dropped from the race.

USA Triathlon:
• The Ford Ironman World Championship will be sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT). All participants must show proof of current USAT membership or purchase a one-day license during athlete check-in. For additional information on USA Triathlon or to request a copy of the competitive rules, please visit www.usatriathlon.org.

The Athlete Information Guide, which contains rules, regulations and other race details, will be available on-line at www.ironman.com after August 1, 2008.
